Toolbox Talk OHS Induction

This Induction System is to be explained, read, and discussed by all persons working or visiting operational areas of the site and confirmed on the attached sheet.

Toolbox talk/site induction meetings are mandatory and must be conducted daily before commencing any work. The photo should clearly show team members in full PPEs, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, traffic cones, poster stands, signed TBTs, and JHA forms.
PPE IS A MUST AND NOT NEGOTIABLE.
All incidents at site (injuries, ill health, theft, faulty tools/PPEs, rotten poles, damage to property, and near misses) must be reported immediately to the site supervisor, who will escalate to the Project Manager and SHEQ Manager.
The Project Implementer and Supervisor/Team Leader MUST ensure that the working at height scope is carried out in adherence to the defined KPLC minimum safe working clearances:
- LV: 1m
- MV: 2m
- HV: 3m
Working at height (in close proximity to KPLC power lines) shall only be done by certified and competent persons who have undergone KPLC working at height training and been issued certificates of competence.
When working on overhead lines, one must wear full PPEs including: working at height helmet, branded overall, reflective vest, rubber gloves, safety boots, climbing irons with a safety harness and lanyard well anchored. The person working at height should remain in visual range of a second person.
Before any pole is climbed, it must be sounded, and no pole impaired by decay or damage shall be climbed.
Where climbing irons are unsafe for working at height, a fiber ladder shall be used, with one person on top and another supporting at the base.
Due to Covid-19, everyone at site must observe MoH guidelines: maintain social distance, wear masks, and wash hands with soap or sanitize regularly.
The working area should be properly barricaded with traffic cones and poster stands well displayed.
Site clearance should be done, and all wastes (remnants of barricading tapes, cables, overhead accessories, and ducts) must be collected and returned to the warehouse for proper segregation and disposal.
All works must be done as per the design and company’s quality standards.
No one should be allowed to work while under the influence of drugs (including doctor’s prescriptions), alcohol, or tobacco.
